Bakers from the north of Moldova have staged a Bread Festival in the town of Cupcini, Edineţ district.

The organizers were willing to promote the Moldovan bakers and the bread baking traditions.

"This ritual is also a contest among the best bakers, among their talents to bake bread for different occasions in the lives of people," said the district Culture department chief, Angela Bazatin.

Culture Minister Monica Babuc also attended the festival: "I’m extremely glad to meet nice people knowing to preserve the bread baking traditions of yore. The tradition of baking ritual breads, holiday breads, bread for every occasion in life, in the northern zone and other areas.”
