Straseni murder case: Fugitive teenager caught at Romanian border with Hungary
The fourth suspect in the murder case in Straseni has been detained. He is the teenager who fled to Romania.
Vitalie was handcuffed at the border with Hungary while he was trying to fled. The information was confirmed by the spokesperson of Straseni Police Inspectorate.
The young man showed resistance at the moment of detainment. He will be extradited in the next 72 hours.
On 25 November 2016, a 14-year-old girl from Straseni disappeared after going out with her friends. After five days her body was found in an abandoned building.
According to prosecutors, four teenagers are suspected of beating her to death. One of them cannot be detained because he is only 13 years old, and two of them, aged 15 and 16, were arrested for 30 days. If found guilty, the young men might spend their lives behind bars
At the same time, four persons were suspended from their positions as a result of the investigation started by Ministry of Interior. They are the head of Straseni police Inspectorate, head of Straseni Public Order Department, head of Criminal Police and a neighborhood police officer.
