Government approves bill on activity of gambling halls
The government approved the bill that comes to tighten rules for activity and licensing of gambling halls.
According to the new project only economic actors that have a minimum capital of four million lei will receive authorization to operate.
Similarly, an advertising of gambling will be provided.
The gambling halls will be prohibited inside the cultural, financial, sport institutions or residential buildings.
According to the bill, casinos will be able to operate in malls and tourist areas in the four and five star hotels.
The document obliges owners of gambling halls to contract with one of the sports federations in the country to support them financially.
The data of "Anonymous Players" group in Chisinau shows that nearly one million Moldovan lei are spent daily on gambling.
Earlier, the first Deputy of the Democratic Party of Moldova, Vlad Plahotniuc, urged fellow alliance members to develop an action plan for regulating the activity of gambling halls.
Vlad Plahotniuc said that he will personally monitor this problem and, together with colleagues from the alliance will rule in this area.
