The Moldovan police have caught a criminal gang specialized in cheating women on social media to give them large amounts of money.

In 2015 - 2016, the alleged delinquents crooked a 35-year-old woman working abroad to give them 400,000 lei ($20,000.)

The police have identified five members of the gang, aged 25 - 40, who had roles well-determined in their acts. The organizers of the criminal gang turned out to be detainees of a Moldovan jail.

The police searched a range of jails and lifted lots of electronic devices used for committing offences.

Two members of the gang were arrested, as all of them face up to 15 years of jail.
