Member of criminal group "Makena", announced in international search, has been detained
A member of the "Makena" criminal group who previously has been announced in international search, has been detained by Straseni town police.
The detention took place on Monday, January 2nd in Starseni town.
The 49-year-old Petru Vitalie was a member of the criminal group "Makena" who has been announced in international search on December 14th, 2013. He has been sentenced to 12 years of imprisonment by Straseni Court for robbery commited by an organized criminal group with extreme cruelty.
Following investigations by law enforcement, it was determined that Pereu Vitalie was responsible for recruiting young people in the criminal group and accumulating funds in the organization, including through extortion of money.
The convict was handed over to the Department of Penitentiary Institutions his sentence.
