A Moldovan tried to cross the Moldovan-Romanian border crossing point with a gun and 483 bullets. The 19-year-old was wearing a gun holder and has been detained at Albita checkpoint.

Romanian police has established that both the gun and bullets are categorized as non-lethal weapons.

The Moldovan said he bought the gun for a fellow countryman for a thousand lei and added that he knew he would have to show the documents for the weapon. 

Romanian authorities are investigating the case.
