2016 saw surge in produce

2016 was a fruitful year. According to official statistics, the produce was 18 % up in 2016, year over year. The surge was largely determined a rich harvest of vegetal production.
In 2016, the produce was up 26 %.
The cereals saw the biggest jump. The wheat harvest was over 1.3 mn tonnes, that’s a 40-per-cent surge.
The maize was up 29 % compared to 2015 and was 1.4 mn tonnes.
The sunflower seeds were up 39 %, year on year, and the sugar beet – up 10 %.
214 tonnes of potatoes were harvested, that’s up 35 % year over year.
Vegetables -- 290 tonnes, up 12 %.
Fruit -- 590 tonnes, up 19 %, and grapes -- 615 tonnes.
The animal produce also rose 3 %. Eggs – up 7 %, 667 mn pieces.
