The Government has adjusted the national quality standards for fruit and vegetables to be sold on Moldovan markets to the European and world requirements.
The move is thought to ease the Moldovan farmers’ access to the European market
The requirements are not valid for the produce grown in private households for family consumption, for the produce transiting the country and for the produce meant to be processed industrially.
The standards are also meant to insure a better protection to consumers.
The legal amendments have been worked out in accordance with the commitments assumed by inking the Moldova-EU Association Agreement.
