Moldova and Latvia SIGN Memorandum of Cooperation on probation

Moldova and Latvia have signed a memorandum of cooperation in the field of probation. The Ministry of Justice states that the document sets out a mechanism for development of cooperation across the track two parts supervision probation systems.
The memorandum was signed during the visit to Riga of the deputy minister of Justice, Anatolie Munteanu.
The press release states that the main directions of Moldova and Latvia agreed on the harmonization of national legislation with the European industry, to facilitate mutual support of continuous professional training of probation officers.
Similarly, it is about sharing experiences in detention, rehabilitation of people and increased cooperation in the judicial expertise.
Deputy Minister of Justice met with Minister of Justice of Latvia Dzintars Rasnačs, and State Secretary of the Ministry of Justice, Raivis Cronbergs.
Representatives of the two countries have discussed the actions set to strengthen international cooperation on the most effective alternative measure of detention - probation.
