Cops in Moldova’s capital will be given bikes to easier patrol in parks and catch thieves.

Using bicycles is more practical than walking but cheaper and more effective than using cars.

"We’ve got inspired by good practices from the U.S.A. and brought a new patrolling model to Moldova. We’re training hard right now. We thank the U.S. Embassy for support," wrote Alexandru Pînzari, the head of the Police General Inspectorate on Facebook.
