Ciutesti village mayor CONVICTED for negligence of work duties
Mayor of Ciutesti village, Nisporeni district, who had been acquitted by the first instance magistrates a year ago, was convicted for negligence in the service.
The mayor was convicted to 2 years and 6 months in prison with the deprivation to hold certain positions for 5 years.
According to prosecutors, the mayor placed a 16-year-old child without parental care in the Psychiatric Hospital in the Capital for a three-week treatment. After the term has expired, the mayor didn't organize the release of the child.
As a result, the child stayed in the hospital for another 144 days, which may have caused serious mental and physical harm.
After discharge, a minor's relative agreed to take over as guardian, and both are now abroad where his relative is working.
