The Chişinău police have opened a criminal case on people collecting protection taxes, since 2014, from the vendors around the Central Market.
"Posing as managers of the Central Market, these persons have collected money in especially large amounts. At least two are suspected," said a senior police officer.
It’s from 8 to 15 years of jail for swindling in large amounts.
PUBLIKA.MD reminder: Two carabineers were injured on Thursday in the morning in a riot at the Central Bazaar. The police tried to prevent illegal vendors to unfold their stands as clashes erupted.
