The new driver licenses will have the owner’s fingerprints starting from next year.

The move was triggered by the Interior Ministry, which says the crime detectives will be given access to the data base. The Cabinet has endorsed the bill.

The move will be debated till the year-end before going for the Parliament’s approval, as its cost is assessed to be $127,000.
