A former employee of the Interior Ministry will be trialed for attempting to bribe top officials in this Ministry.

The 54-year-old man faces 12 years in prison and a fine of about $20,000.

According to the prosecutors, he tried to hand half a million lei to the Ministry administration through an intermediary. 

He wanted to get donation certificates for guns he gave to six Ukrainian citizens, but was detained when handing a second installment.

He pleads guilty.
