The Parliament voted in the final reading the abolition of deputy minister position and the introduction of state general secretary in ministries. Obtaining 52 votes, this decision was adopted today.

Thus, the state general secretary will be a senior public official.

This position will assist the minister in managing the ministry by ensuring the functional links between the minister and civil servants as well as between the minister and the organizational structures within the competent sphere of the ministry.

The new provisions are part of the Government Reform, endorsed in final reading last week.
