The negotiation commission between the Government and the Education & Science Federation was carried out today at the meeting chaired by Prime Minister, Pavel Filip. 

The parties discussed the problems in the education system and appropriate solutions. Among the main issues were the grossly insufficient salary of teachers, the unqualified quality of educational activities, the exodus of teachers.

Accordingly, the sides agreed to raise the salaries of professors in general and technical education by 11.3% from 1st September this year.

Approximately 94 million lei is required to enable this salary increase in 3 months of 2017 

According to the National Bureau of Statistics, the average monthly salary for the current year is 5,600 lei.
