The police detained a 22-year-old man, from the district of Teleneşti for committing a series of scams, digesting victims of mobile phones.

Thus, during the month of July, three people came to the Buiucani Police Inspectorate for help, saying they had become victims of a fraudster.

According to the information presented, police officers gather that the suspect would approach potential victims and ask for a cellular phone as if to make a call and then would disappear. According to this scheme, the individual has presumably caused a 17,000 lei material loss to the three victims.

At the hearings, the suspect reportedly has recognized his guilt, being detained for 72 hours at the Police Department of Chisinau.

Under current legislation, he is prosecuted for fraud and is liable to a fine of 17,000 to 27,000 lei or 2 to 6 years imprisonment.
