The baccalaureate exam success rate has increased significantly. The extra session helps boost results.
The baccalaureate exam success rate for this year equals 68.8 percent, by six percentage points more than last year. These are the final results of the 2017 baccalaureate exams after the additional session papers have been checked.
According to the Ministry of Education, high schools have registered the highest results.
4.469 candidates took exams within the supplementary session. Only 35 percent of them, that is, 1585 young people, passed them successfully. Thus, the final data show that high school graduates have the best results, with a success rate of 91.6 percent - five percentage points higher than last year.
In the 80 high schools of the country the success rate of exam passing is 100 percent. The best results were obtained by graduates of "Prometheus" high school, where the average mark is 8.55. The Theoretical High School "Spiru Haret" is second, with an average of 8.40 and the Academy of Sciences' High School is third with 8.30. An average of more than 8 points was recorded at "Mircea Eliade" High School and "Evrica" High School.
The worst results were recorded at the three centers in Chisinau, where young people who graduated from various educational institutions several years ago but wanted to take the exam now. Here, the success rate was below 50 percent, with an average mark of just over 6. In colleges, the success rate is 57.5 percent, by 10 percentage points more than last year.
"Alexei Mateevici" College, "Vasile Lupu" College and the Center for Excellence in Economy and Finance from Chisinau registered the best results.
The lowest exam-passing rate was registered at the Agroindustrial College from Grinauti, the district of Ocniţa. Over 18,000 candidates enrolled at the 2017 Baccalaureate session, with only 12,905 passing the exams. The rest of the candidates are expected to fare better next year.
