Financial statement of Moldova's ministers, public for first time
The dignitaries' fortunes were spotted.
The National Integrity Authority has published the first income statements of Ministers and Government members: financial sources, bank accounts, real estate and other luxurious goods.
Accordingly, the Minister of Economy and Infrastructure, Octavian Calmîc, obtained a total income of almost 550 thousand lei last year. From the Government's activity, the official collected over 176 thousand lei. From bank deposits and didactic activities, Calmîc obtained over 175 thousand lei. The minister also has 11 bank accounts with over 1,3 million lei, 330 euros and 860 dollars. In his statement of income, Calmîc mentioned that he owned 2 apartments, 1 house and 6-year-old car bought 4 years ago.
And Minister of Finance, Octavian Armașu, declared a total revenue of almost 545 thousand lei. The official received a salary of over 123 thousand lei, and from didactic activities and bank deposits over 60 thousand lei. Armaşu also has 13 bank accounts with over 423,000 lei, 150,000 euros, and 12,000 dollars. In the statement of income, the Minister of Finance indicated that he owned 124 farmlands and a car.
Justice Minister Vladimir Cebotari received a salary of over 190,000 lei in 2016. In the 13 bank accounts, the official has deposited almost 40,000 lei. Cebotari also owns 2 houses, 2 cars and 2 farmlands.
Also for last year, Minister of Education, Culture and Research, Monica Babuc, received wage of over 130 thousand lei. She has a credit card worth 50,000 lei and owns a car and an apartment.
Minister of Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment, Vasile Bîtca, declared last year a total revenue of over 640 thousand lei. In addition to the salary of almost 140,000 lei, the official earned more than half a million lei from the sales of several farmlands. The official has a bank account with over 720 thousand lei and has three dwellings, a garage and 7 farmlands.
The President of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova, Gheorghe Duca, declared an income for 2016 of over 630 thousand lei, 36 thousand Romanian lei and 1500 dollars. Most money he got from teaching. On the ten bank accounts, Duca has deposited over 700,000 lei in different currencies. Besides 3 buildings, he owns a villas of nearly 660 m2 , 2 cars and 1 farmland.
