How much gold and money kept in stock of Moldovan National Bank?
54 million lei or around 3 million dollars is the value of gold reserved in the National Bank at the end of July, according to current exchange rate.
In addition to precious metal, the state also has a foreign currency reserve.
Although National Bank do not declare the exact amount of gold, we are able to calculate through its value. Accordingly, 1 gram of pure gold announced by the National Bank is worth 725 lei, we deduce almost 74 kilograms of gold kept in the bank.
The gold stock is only a small part of Moldova's total economies. At the end of last month, the National Bank reserved $ 2.5 billion foreign exchange or 44 billion lei which meant over 700 dollars or almost 13,000 lei per person.
The stock of foreign currency ensures, in urgent circumstances, the necessary for three months of import.
