Romania's ex-President criticizes Maia Sandu: "Your approaches put Moldova in danger by Moscow"
The extreme approaches of the leader of the Action and Solidarity Party (PAS), Maia Sandu, can lead Moldova be endangered by Kremlin authority. The statement was made by former President of Romania, Traian Băsescu, in response to Sandu's speech in the Lithuanian capital.
The president's reaction resulted from PAS leader's criticism against Chisinau government and the state institutions.
"Corrupt government unapproved by citizen exists in my country. Moreover, Moldovan institutions is the worst in the region, "said PAS leader Maia Sandu.
The Maia Sandu's speech was taken aback by the former Cotroceni's leader, who enunciated the fact that Moldova was making significant progress.
"To be honest, I have never heard of such a speech by a leader about her own country, as Maia Sandu. Lots of advances have been made in the past years. With theories 'we have to kill all corrupt people and see what we are going to do with the elections', Moldova is supposed to be endangered by Moscow authorities', said Traian Băsescu, former president of Romania.
The conference at Vilnius University, which was attended by Sandu and Băsescu, was organized in the context of the European Day of Remembrance for Victims of Stalinism and Nazism.
