Republic of Moldova to host International Wine Tourism Conference in 2018
Stanislav Rus, director of a travel agency declared during a press conference, with the occasion of International Tourism Day that with the support of United Nation Development Program, Republic of Moldova, will become the Capital of Wine Tourism in 2018.
"We are expecting 250-300 experts from over 70 countries. The money for transportation and housing will be the guest's responsibility, while Moldova will only take care of internal spending, organization", Stanislav Rusu declared.
Along with Republic of Moldova, Spain and South Africa have competed for this possibility. But, as Chisinau has successfully hosted, on 5th-7th June, the 61st Meeting of the UNWTO Commission for Europe, where all member had the chance to taste the wines and decide which they believe are worth promoting on the international market. The World Tourism Organization has chosen Republic of Moldova to host the International Wine Tourism Conference in 2018.
