EU's Macro-financial assistance to reach Moldova when conditions fulfilled
Parliament Speaker Andrian Candu was the special guest of Replica show on Prime TV. The talk covered the issues of European integration, the mixed system but also the macro-financial support provided by the European Union.
Andrian Candu argued that the macro-financial assistance for the Republic of Moldova would go through certain stages with purpose of supporting the reforms.
"It is a big confusion, and I see a few confused voices in the European Parliament, it is firstly about the fulfillment of conditions and then the aid. We have, at this level governments, no longer received the money of beautiful eyes for one and a half years.
"Whether it is the European Union, whether it is the International Monetary Fund or the Molde Bank, there are conditions that we must fulfill.
"In the case of a one hundred million financial package, 60 of which are loans and 40 grants, there are 30 conditions to be fulfilled, ten for each installment. That is why, first of all, the money will come to the country only if we are good at fulfilling the conditions, "said Andrian Candu, Parliament Speaker.
The President of Parliament noted that the financial assistance provided by the European Union had brought many benefits to the Republic of Moldova. This is because, on the basis of these resources, it enabled the reform regarding key institutions of the state.
"We do not make those reforms just because they are demanded by the European Union or by the IMF, they are made to bring benefits.
"Customs reform and tax reform have given us almost 30 per cent increase in revenues.
"The police and justice system reform ensures a better protection of human rights, lower criminal rate and increased respect for law enforcement, regardless if they serve on sectors or at the Ministry of Internal Affairs" Andrian Candu declared.
