Tens of Moldovan are yearly transported at the hospital, being infected by Echinococcus- an illness provoked by worms and transmitted by animals. Often, the symptoms can take years and the consequences are bad,it can even provoke death.

A 20 year old man suffered his second surgery on the worms elimination. 

''Firstly, they found it in the spleen, then, they found it in the liver. Probably, because of the meat'', explained the patient.

The doctors say that the worms comes from the domestic animals or from the unwashed vegetables. When the worms are in the human body, they can attack the liver, the lungs,the heart and even the brain. A more risky category are people who eat milk and rfw meat.

The last year, only in the Republican Hospital there were operated more than 80 patients. The doctors say that many of the patience are from the South.

''Every day, the worm raises with 2 cm. The most severe form of it is when the liver or the lungs are affected, then, the patient needs more than just a surgery'',said Teofil Iusco, surgeon from the Republican Hospital.

The specialists recommend to make some prophylaxis to the domestic animals at least twice a year.
