The section of propagation and crossing of the Botanica Garden exotic plants will use green energy in the work. The hot water required every day will be heated by four solar panels.

The collectors were made by a company in the country and were offered within a project implemented by the Agency for Energy Efficiency and financed by the Polish Government. Employees say that solar panels will make their work considerably easier.

"When we start the work, we have to wash our hands well, we wash the floor and the wall, the tables. Everything needs to be sterile. Hot water is necessary. Hot water should also be used for dishwashing," said Maria Sofroni, biotechnologist.

The collectors will significantly reduce the institution's expenses.

"Every year we have a budget deficit of about two, three million lei. This project will allow us to reduce cost of water heating, at least half a million lei," said Alexandru Teleutza, director of the Botanica Garden.

The Botanica Garden is currently the only state-run renewable energy facility. The Director of the Energy Efficiency Agency assures that such projects will be implemented.

"The use of these solar collectors can bring about 35 percent savings in the hot water proctor. We hope that the employees of this institution will use these collectors in their daily work, especially because they have a noble profession to preserve and promote the flora from Moldova, "said Alexandru Ciudin, director of the Energy Efficiency Agency.

Solar panels were offered at the event Moldova Eco Energy.

An information forum on investments and grants for mayors and local companies will be held on Thursday.

Then a Gala will be held for the 35 participants in the ECO Modern Technology and Innovation Competition on Friday.
