The law on meal tickers goes into effect today. According to the document, employees of the private sector will be able to receive daily vouchers worth 45 lei.

Employees will be able to use the voucher to have meals in canteens and restaurants or to buy food from stores. The meal vouchers can not be transferred from one person to another or exchanged for money.

The draft on introducing them as a salary supplement was voted in final reading in Parliament. The initiative came from the President of Parliament, Andrian Candu, and was supported by the majority of Members.
