Russians abusively intervening in Moldova's political activities - PDM leader Vlad Plahotniuc
Russia has obviously intervened in Moldova's political activities which we must continually deal with. This opinion belongs to PDM leader, Vlad Plahotniuc, in an interview for Deschide.md.
Regarding the information that the State Duma intends to vote on a resolution to condemn the anti-promulgation law initiated by PDM in Moldova, Vlad Plahotniuc believes that Duma must first discuss the abusive manner in which the FSB and other state institutions act against The Republic of Moldova and our officials.
"We would be delighted that State Duma will first discuss the aggressive manipulation campaigns promoted by several television stations in Russia, where Moldova is humiliatingly presented. Moldovans are made in all ways, and what is happening in our country is presented through long reports of lies.
"We would also like the State Duma to discuss the abusive manner in which the FSB and other state institutions are acting against the Republic of Moldova and our officials. What kind of development of our strategic relations when our officials are harassed, when dozens of requests are being sent to Interpol so that our officials and people can be politically harassed?
"Our countless official complaints to the Russian Federation should be discussed as well, with very concrete cases related to these abuses. In reality, however, we are dealing with an increasingly obvious involvement of some entities from the Russian Federation in the political activity in our country, "said Moldovan Democratic Party Chairman Vlad Plahotniuc.
Vlad Plahotniuc also highlighted the fact that the Russian Federation is increasingly trying to get involved in the electoral campaign in Moldova. The PDM leader noted that these cases are being documented.
"When you have left-wing parties who do not even hide that they have Russian support, including logistics, media and other ways, when you have a party in the right-wing opposition with very clear links with Russian secret services which has a clear mission to keep the right split and to prevent a new pro-European coalition after the elections, or more Russian people coming to our country are well-known for their harmful propaganda activity on abuse and electoral campaigns in other democratic countries, I think more examples or comments are not necessary.
"We have more and more obvious attempts of some Russian entities to involve in the electoral campaign in the Republic of Moldova , we document all these cases, we are extremely careful about what is happening.
"We will intervene on time and we will not allow anyone outside the country to get involved in the election campaign, either directly or indirectly, through various ways of blackmail and pressure on the state or politics. The elections must be free, democratic and take place in Moldova, reflect the opinion of our citizens, including those who have gone abroad, but not the opinion of interest groups or of any other state, "said Moldovan Democratic Party Chairman Vlad Plahotniuc.
PUBLIKA.MD reminds that on December 7, the anti-propaganda law was passed in Parliament with the vote of 61 deputies. The document was supported by elected PDM, PL, PPE and PLDM.
