Vlad Plahotniuc about new ministers: Things might change. In spring we will assess activity of each ministry
Democratic Party from Moldova doesn't guarantee the office to anyone. If somebody doesn't fulfill his duties or doesn't have any results for the citizens, they leave. The declaration was made by Vlad Plahotniuc, the PDM President, within an interview for deschide.md. At the same time, the President of the party said that the new ministers have three months ahead to prove they deserve their office.
"PDM doesn't guarantee anyone the any office The guarantee is influenced by the results of these ministers. In spring, we will evaluate the activity of each minister and we don't exclude any changes of the ministers. I think that 2-3 months are sufficient for a minister to prove if he fulfills his duties right, or he takes care more about his figure in Moldovan politics. I am sure that in these three months they will prove what are they capable of. We are all humans and all of us can make mistakes, but, it is better to stop if something goes wrong. From time to time, we make opinion surveys and we will see people's opinion on the Government's activity. I think that the new team of the Government is a good one to achieve the priorities of the country", said Vlad Plahotniuc.
At the same time, PDM leader mentioned that 2018 is an election year and the Government should focus more on its activity rather than on politics.
"I want to clarify that PDM is responsible of Government's activity. This is why we will have permanent discussions about the Government's and Parliament's activity. The thing that the ministers are not our party colleagues doesn't mean they should not fulfill people's requests that are transmitted through our party colleagues. The coalition parties will be rated according to the results of each minister or deputy, regardless of their political belonging", said Vlad Plahotniuc.
After being asked about the analysts' and journalists' comments on the thing that the new governmental team is not technocratic, because some of the ministers had a political belonging in the past, Vlad Plahotniuc said:
"Without doing any comparisons, I recommend you to look at the Ciolos Government from Romania. Everybody called it technocratic. Many of the members: deputy prime ministers and some ministers of this Government were certain party members in the past, but, anyway they fulfilled their activity pretty well. I saw that in Moldova some consider that a minister is not technocrat if he liked a PDM post in the past or shared a post of the Prime Minister. This is hypocrisy. Beyond this appreciations, that hide frustration, I think that a minister manages to be independent through the way he is going to work and the results he will make. These results are expressed through people's votes, not through the "likes" on the social media.
