Economy Minister and Commerce Chamber officials debated solutions to industrial issues
Subjects regarding industry were discussed by Economy Minister Chiril Gaburici and Secretary General of State, Iulia Costin with the representatives of the Moldova Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
"Industry plays really important role in every country. We do not deny that there are problems and difficulties in this sector. That is why we organize discussions with the business environment to identify problems and solutions to solve them.
"It is important to keep up with the technological changes, with the reforms aimed at developing and modernizing the economy of the Republic of Moldova, "said Cyril Gaburici.
Multiple topics were approached such as the application of Regulation on subsidizing job creation, finalizing the Moldova Development Strategy 2019-2030, customs duties on raw material for producers, lack of workforce, transparency in public procurement, product quality, differential tariffs for water and sewerage services, as well as the transposition of European directives and standards in order to meet the provisions of the EU Association Agreement.
The Minister of Economy and Infrastructure thanked Moldovan business representatives for opening and involvement in identifying the problems faced by the industrial sector.
"I urge you to be active and get involved in identifying issues in the sector. We need to strengthen our efforts so that we find the most viable solutions. These meetings will become a practice, a communication platform between business and the Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure ", stressed Chiril Gaburici.
Present at the talks, the President of the CCI, Sergiu Harea, appreciated the Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure's support in the development of the Moldovan industry and thanked for the initiation of an open dialogue between the authorities and the business environment.
According to him, the next session will address issues related to trade facilitation and the implementation of the provisions of the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Agreement (DCFTA).
