Péter Szijjártó: Moldova legitimized to received first EU's €100 million assistance
Moldova has met all conditions for unlocking the first tranche of the EU's 100 million euro assistance. The statement was made by Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto, who met in Chisinau with his Moldovan counterpart, Tudor Ulianovschi.
"We'll discuss this topic at the next Foreign Affairs Council to make it clear that Moldova has fulfilled all requirements and the first tranche of macro-financial assistance needs to be paid to Moldova", said Peter Szijjarto, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Hungary
The head of the diplomacy in Budapest also referred to the mixed voting system that will be implemented in the parliamentary elections this year.
The Hungarian official specified that the change of the electoral legislation keeps strictly the national authorities' desire.
During the meeting, Tudor Ulianovschi announced that a meeting of the Moldovan-Hungarian intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation will take place in the autumn.
The two also signed a memorandum of collaboration on the environment.
"It will allow us to address issues of great importance in bilateral economic, environment domains, considering that we have signed the intergovernmental agreement on environmental cooperation," said Minister Tudor Ulianovschi.
The two ministers have made gifts. Tudor Ulianovschi received a ball signed by the famous Hungarian striker Ferenc Puskas.
