Joint-stock company „ENERGOCOM” won the auction and signed with „Centrala electrică Moldovenească” ("Moldovan Electric Power Plant") and „DTEK PAVLOGRADUGOLI” from Ukraine new contracts of supplying Republic of Moldova with electricity, valid from April 1 2018 to March 31 2019.

According to the new contracts, 70% of the electricity necessary to Republic of Moldova will be purchased from Moldovan Electric Power Plant, while the rest 30% from DTEK PAVLOGRADUGOLI from Ukraine.

The proportions were calculated based on the fees the two companies demand, therefore citizens will pay less and have more energy security.

The fees are on average around 5.42 cents/kWh. Despite the prices offered by the two suppliers being bigger than in previous contracts, consumers will not have to pay more.

It was caused by the introduction of new fees calculation method, as well as the strengthened currency, solutions were drawn up to not allow the fees for consumers to increase, despite the bigger prices indicated in contracts.

At the same time, companies operating in the electricity market in Republic of Moldova - ÎCS Gas Natural Fenosa Furnizare Energie SRL, ÎCS RED Union Fenosa SA, SA Furnizarea Energiei Electrice Nord, ÎS Moldelectrica and SA RED Nord, will sign with SA „ENERGOCOM” contracts for purchasing electricity starting April 1 2018 to March 31 2019.

The auction was transparent and respected all instructions for annual acquisition of electricity. It was monitored by a group of representatives from Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Moldova, from EU High Level Advisers and from Energy Community Secretariat.
