Bilateral relations were discussed by Minister of External Affairs and European Integration, Tudor Ulianovschi and Apostolic Nuncio to Republic of Moldova, Miguel Maury Buendía.

During the meeting, the officials spoke about current subjects on the bilateral agenda, mentioning the common interests to develop relations between Republic of Moldova and the Holy See in various fields of interests, including through organizing some high level bilateral visits.

The officials have also exchanged opinions regarding on the developments in regional and international plan, as well as cooperation opportunities in the international agenda.

On December 5 2015, Pope Francis named Miguel Maury Buendía Apostolic Nuncio to Romania, while on January 25 2016 he was named Apostolic Nuncio to Republic of Moldova.
