Monica Babuc: Closed down schools will be reopened if the community wishes it
During last evening's Fabrika, Minister of Education, Culture and Research, Monica Babuc spoke of how schools that were closed down will be reopened if the community wishes it.
The official reminded that authorities are reevaluating each institution that was liquidated and the impact it had on teachers and pupils.
"We tried to see if there were any economic advantages after the schools were closed: if money were saved and if they were used for education" Monica Babuc explained.
Minister of Education also spoke of the school from Țepilova village, Soroca district, which was reopened because some parents wished for it to happen.
"There was much pressure, including from mass media, that used the hesitation of some of the parents. We speak of a school that had a great condition for children attending the primary school. The scandal had nothing to do with the interests of children and parents" Monica Babuc said.
The official also spoke of how half the reports teachers had to do were reduced.
"In eight districts from Republic of Moldova over 540 teachers were informed on how reports have to be done" Minister Monica Babuc declared.
Minister of Education, Culture and Research also announced that this year the school curriculum will be revised and the pupils will gain the chance to chose from multiple optional classes. The official also mentioned that salaries of teachers will rise in stages, reaching to a 50% increase. At the beginning of September 2017, the salaries of teachers grew by 11%.
