Government approved new non-profit law
The Government has approved during today's meeting the non-profit law. The document aims to improve the legal framework regulating the activity of non-governmental organizations and simplify the procedure of registering one, allowing more freedom of association.
The project aims to eliminate restrictions for certain category of people to launch or lead a non-governmental organization, ensure additional safeguards to protect freedom of association, eliminate territorial restrictions and limit the possibility of the state to interfere in those structures.
The document also states the principles for launching and managing a non-governmental organization and foresees them being registered at the Public Services Agency free of charge. The organization's attributions are also stated, requesting transparency.
The document took into account the expertise of some NGOs, who offered multiple suggestions that were taken into consideration.
At the moment, in Republic of Moldova are activating around 8860 NGOs.
