The new Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Moldova will become Oleg Vasneţov. His candidacy was supported by deputies from State Duma.

He will replace Farit Muhametşin, who was the Ambassador since 2012, his mandate ending this year. 

In 2009, Vasneţov worked at the The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia.

During 1996 - 2000 he was the adviser to the Russian Ambassador to France. The Russian official knows French, English and Bulgarian.
