80 pupils from socially vulnerable families to receive scholarships worth 12,000 lei
80 pupils from socially vulnerable families in Moldova will receive scholarships worth 12,000 lei, it has been announced by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research (MECC).
This year, 207 young people participated in the contest. Following the evaluation of the submitted files, the experts selected 80 students, who study in 35 specialized institutions.
The money is intended for students' needs, such as accommodation, meals, books and teaching material required for practical classes.
"These young people are courageous and creative, with enormous potential. I want to congratulate you and wish you perseverance and many successes ", - said the Minister of Education, Culture and Research, Monica Babuc.
The Scholarships for disadvantaged young people was launched in 2010, implemented by the Center for Information and Education, with the support of a foundation, in partnership with the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research and the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare.
The aim of the program is to contribute to the education of young people from disadvantaged backgrounds so as to eliminate the inequality of access to studies, so that all young people can subsequently gain a profession and integrate into society.
