The Government has approved today the creation of an Investment Agency. It will be launched by merging the Moldovan Investment and Export Promotion Organization with the Tourism Agency of the Republic of Moldova and will be a direct subordinate of the Government.

"It is an important Agency and we count on more efficient promotion, regardless if it is tourism, or attracting investments and presenting Moldova as an attractive country to invest in" PM Pavel Filip said.

The new agency is meant to contribute to the economic development by increasing the amount of foreign investments and export and by developing tourism. Therefore, the Agency will promote the country's image to attract more investments, will support and protect investments, will promote exports, tourism and will fortify the economic diplomacy. 

After the Agency will be launched, along the duty to attract investments and promote export, Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure will take upon itself to elaborate the tourism policy. Transferring those attributions to the Ministry will ensure more transparency and more efficient talks between the Government and foreign investors, including the strategic ones.
