Interim Mayor of the Capital, Silvia Radu, begun collecting signatures necessary to register as an independent candidate for the local elections, which will take place on May 20. Here, Silvia Radu is being helped by her family and 60 volunteers. Since the first day, hundreds of people signed to support her.

After work, interim Mayor went to the park from Miron Costin street, Râșcani sector. There, she spoke with people of their problems, who then declared that she will receive their full support at the elections.

Those who signed to support the interim Mayor claim that Silvia Radu managed to do many good changes in a short period of time.

"She is not leading the city for long, but so far I like all the changes she made. I have not seen what other candidates are capable of."

"I like her vision and the changes she managed to accomplish in the city in this short period of time. I believe she will be able to maintain stability."

"I saw that she can and will create order. When there was snow she fought with everyone... Good job."

Silvia Radu believes that she will be able to gather the necessary amount of signatures, because the city needs to be managed by someone who is not politically driven.

"I am sure that I will succeed, as long as people wish for an independent Mayor, who will represent them and not political parties. I believe the city will change bit by bit and the citizens will become proud of their city" Silvia Radu declared.

The interim Mayor is assisted by 60 volunteers, to whom she expressed her gratitude. Such tents were installed in all sectors of the Capital and suburbs.

She was joined by her son, daughter-in-law and husband who confessed that he often does all the housework, so that she will have more time for the city.

"I will support all her decisions. Most housework usually falls on my or the children's shoulders. I know her strength and ambitions and I believe we will manage" Silva Radu's husband, Virgiliu Radu declared.

Silvia Radu was named interim Mayor of Chisinau at the beginning of November last year. She was the director of Gas Natural Fenosa between 2008-2015 and ran for president at the elections from autumn 2016.
