In the context of efforts made by Embassy of the Republic of Moldova to the Republic of Portugal on strengthening bilateral relations in various areas, at Leiria was singed an Collaboration Agreement between Technical University of Moldova and Polytechnic Institute of Leiria.

At the event, Ambassador Dumitru Socolan and vice president of Polytechnic Institute of Leiria, Rui Pedrosa remarked the agreement's importance, mentioning that it offers new opportunities for students to participate in exchange programs, elaborate joint scientific projects, promote mutual exchanges of academic delegations etc.

The document is meant to consolidate the already existing academic cooperation between Republic of Moldova and Portugal, since 2017 multiple similar agreements were signed, including between State Agrarian University of Moldova and Universidade de Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro from Vila Real, Ion Creangă Pedagogical State University and University of Évora, Moldova State University and University of Coimbra, State Agrarian University of Moldova and University of Évora.
