Filip on Nistru ecosystem: Ukraine ensures nothing will deteriorate conditions of Nistru river
Ukraine is sure that nothing will deteriorate the conditions of Nistru river, it will do everything for improvement, it's the main source for Chisinau and Odessa. The statements were made by the Prime Minister Pavel Filip in Government meeting with Ukrainian officials regarding the Nistru ecosystem.
"The most important topic we have been able to discuss is the preservation and development of the ecosystem along the entire length of the Nistru banks.
"We will approve the Commission on the sustainable use and protection of the Dniester, the Ukrainian side has already done so.
"We manage to advance in negotiation of agreement for function of hydroelectric complex of Nistru as this environment is important to for us.
"I signed with the Ukrainian Premier a request to the European Commission for assistance of experts carrying out a comprehensive environmental impact study over the full length of the Dniester River, "the head of the Executive said.
Additionally, Pavel Filip mentioned about a Global Ecological Fund project in future. Also, the Embassy of Sweden in Moldova is conducting a study on the social impact of environment on our country as a result of the hydroelectric complex function of Nistru.
"This topic has been the key issue in our discussion. Ukraine ensures nothing will deteriorate the conditions of Nistru river", said the Moldovan Premier.
