Pavel Filip: Fires never happen is fire safety is respected, someone will take responsibility
Prime Minister Pavel Filip has summoned a meeting with people responsible for fire safety, after the two blazes that burst yesterday in the Capital.
The official mentioned the importance to continue investigating all building from the country, as well as the necessity to mend all issues encountered in fire safety. Pavel Filip requested for an analysis to be made on changing the sanctions given in such cases, which will make some economic agents and building owners more responsible.
"A fire will never happen if all fire safety measures are respected, there will always be someone responsible. I wish for us to never reach a point where it is unknown who is responsible for a fire" Prime Minister said.
According to the information presented at the meeting, to extinguish the flames from the Microbiology and Biotechnology of the Science Academy of Moldova required 14 fire engines and over 100 firefighters.

For the second fire, which took place in a shopping mall from the Capital, were required four fire engines.

In both cases the blaze destroyed the buildings' roofs, all people were evacuated and nobody was hurt. The cause of the fires was not yet established.
At the same time, between 12:02-12:07, when the fire took place, 112 Service received 74 emergency calls, amounting to one call per 4 seconds. Starting 13:13, when the second fire burst, in only 5 minutes were registered 136 calls, or one call every second. Operators have quickly reacted and dispatched firefighter to the scene.
