Government will launch Information Technology and Cyber Security Service
Data center in the public sector will be consolidated, while state information system made more efficient. For this, a new public institution will be launched - Information Technology and Cyber Security Service, through the reorganization of the Stat enterprise Center of Special Telecommunications. The new institution will also adsorb the Agricultural Information Center.
The service will manage the Government's information system and the data center, as well as ensure cyber security.
The new institution will take over the Government's platform MCloud and extend it by consolidation the data center, ensuring their aligning to the European security regulations. In collaboration with the state information system, the service will ensure the migration of the systems to the MCloud server and will take over their technical management, applying unified management and ensuring quality.
Those measures will contribute to overcoming many problems that public authorities face, such as lack of qualified IT bodies and insufficient necessary infrastructure to ensure good performance and security of IT systems.
"It is more difficult to ensure cyber security with multiple data centers. Gathering all institutions into a single server or on the MCloud platform will simplify the task. First of all, the expenses will reduce, while second, we will have better cyber security" PM Pavel Filip declared.
In the development of state information system is foreseen the consolidation of management capabilities of the projects, of analysis and projection, as well as ensure quality IT solutions. The intuition Electronic Government Center (E-Government) will be renamed to Electronic Government Agency of Moldova. The agency will continue promoting innovative technologies in the Government and modernization of public services.
The changes are part of the Strategy for public administration reform for 2016-2020 and the National Strategy for the development of the information society Moldova 2020.
