"For us soldiers, Tricolor is more than a simple State Flag. It represents our past, the history filled with heroics of our ancestors. It represents the present time, our pride to participate in multinational exercise and international missions, ceremonies and military parades. It represents our future, the future of the people who swear their loyalty to this land and will protect it to their last breath. Those three colors portray our faith, dignity and essence. Those are the colors we think of when shouting - For Moldova, for Honor, for Tricolor!"
PUBLIKA.MD reminds that the State Flag of the Republic of Moldova was officially designated on 27 April 1990 by late deputy Gheorghe Ghimpu.
20 years later, Parliament of the Republic of Moldova voted to name this date State Flag Day.
At the end of the 80s, Tricolor became the symbol of national rebirth.
The blue represents hope and stability, yellow for material and spiritual values and red for eternal fire and blood shed in the name of freedom.
