The driver from Berzoaia village, Ştefan Vodă, who killed a 4-month infant while drunk driving, without even possessing a driver's license, was sentenced more harshly. 

After the first court sentenced the man to 4 years, prosecutors appealed the decision. The Court of Appeal from Chisinau has investigated the case and issued a new decision, sentencing the young man to 5 years and 6 months, with prohibition from driving for the next 4 years, in a medium security prison.

PUBLIKA.MD reminds that the accident took place in August 2017. A 19-year-old, who has gotten behind the wheel while drunk, accidentally ran over a 4-month-old infant in Ştefan Vodă.

It all happened under the mother's helpless eyes. The suspect, who had a 1,12 mg/l blood alcohol content, was arrested soon after by police.

The 4-month-old child, who was in the stroller, has passed away while being transported to the hospital, due to the grave injuries.
