70 percent of Moldovans believe that uniforms should be introduced in schools.
This is the preliminary results of a survey conducted by the Ministry of Education.
Minister Monica Babuc said she is going to analyze parents' wishes about pattern and color.
"The Ministry does not claim to impose a certain uniformity on someone, but everyone here understands that there is something decent, it's the colors that match, and it is the desire of each school to take out its identity and to introduce the value," said Minister of Education, Culture and Research, Monica Babuc.
Monica Babuc also said that socially vulnerable families could receive state help to buy costumes. The Ministry of Education and Social Protection have discussions in this respect. According to estimates, the price of a school uniform is between 1500 and 2000 lei, depending on the number of pieces.
