September 1st preparations: Seamstresses busy with school uniforms
There are still three weeks until the bell rings again and school fever is already felt in the capital.
The workshop is busy, as seamstresses have received orders for the whole year. Markets and shops are filled with school uniforms for all tastes and pockets. While seller say they have lower prices compared to previous years, parents complain that clothes are too expensive.
Nearly 300 uniforms should be ready for "Miguel De Cervantes" school till friday. So the workshop women are very busy.
A set composed from a pleated skirt, a shirt, a vest and a cardigan costs 1,200 lei. The uniform is 200 lei more expensive for secondary school students. The costumes are made in Turkey on order.
Those who study in schools with no mandatory uniform, can buy clothes in shops or markets.
In total parents must pay three thousand lei for the outfit, shoes, backpack and school supplies.
