Brock Bierman: USAID will continue assisting Moldova in implementing projects for sustainable development
Many projects ensuring sustainable development and consolidation of democratic institutions from Moldova were possible due to the support offered by USAID. The announcement was made by Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, Tudor Ulianovschi, during a meeting with Assistant Administrator for USAID's Bureau for Europe and Eurasia, Brock Bierman.
Here, the Moldovan official mentioned the benefits of realized projects that were supported by USAID, starting from 1992, wroth around 1.4 billion USD, felt by most of Republic of Moldova's citizens, at the moment projects being unfolded in various fields - infrastructure, agriculture, IT etc.
"In today's joint agenda are included a number of projects that will contribute to developing Republic of Moldova. I speak, first of all, of USAID's project for structural reform in Republic of Moldova, wroth 11.2 million USD, launched this January 30, the USAID/APM project for 2016-2021 offering grants for grape manufacturing, worth to 600 000 lei etc." Ministrul Ulianovschi said.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration reiterated the appreciation of US's assistance in increasing competitiveness in agriculture, improving business environment and economic growth.
During the talks, the officials evaluated the cooperation for the near future and the importance of implementing projects contributing to fortifying market economy and modern agriculture.
Brock Bierman greeted the positive changes registered in Republic of Moldova, mentioning that USAID will continue participating in implementing projects for sustainable development, accentuating programs that will have a direct impact upon the lives of citizens, especially education, health, infrastructure, developing civil society and ensuring the objectivity of mass media.
