Police officers use their power to abuse drives that respect all laws. Such cases were reported by the citizens themselves, while Ministry of Internal Affairs will following investigate to find those responsible. The declarations were made by president of PDM, Vlad Plahotniuc, after the party's weekly meeting.

"We received cases when policemen abuse their position. There was a period when this abuse was reduced, but it did not last long. I requested today the Ministry of Internal Affairs to investigate why the abuse reappeared, who caused a faulty implementation of the law and I also requested for those responsible to be sanctioned" Vlad Plahotniuc mentioned.

According to leader of PDM, officers use campaigns as a pretext, to justify why the cars were pulled over.

"I requested the Ministry to ensure more transparency and clarity of national campaigns, organized in traffic, at the order of chief of National Patrol Inspectorate and to always post on the institution's official webpage: the campaign, zone and time when it will unfold, to prevent breaches" Vlad Plahotniuc declared.

President of PDM highlighted that the situation will be monitored until those issues will not be completely eliminated: "Officers must patrol areas with high crime rates, to protect the citizens and ensure their safety, not to abuse people. We urge drivers to respect the traffic law, to not give officers any reasons to be pulled over and sanctioned."
