Republic of Moldova has qualified last evening in the grand finale of Eurovision Song Contest 2018. Doredos, who represented Moldova with the song "My Lucky Day", managed to gain the necessary amount of points to advance in the competition.

Half of the necessary votes were offered by the jury, while the other half by TV spectators.

After the competition, members of Doredos, along with Filip Kirkorov, the songwriter, held a press conference.

"We thank all those who voted for us. We are very happy" member of Doredos declared.

Kirkorov used the chance to express his regret that Russia's representative, Iulia Samoilova, did not quality in the final.

"I am a Russian citizen and it is unfortunate that she did not quality, but I believe she has done an amazing job" Filip Kirkorov declared.

Along Moldova in the finals will participate Serbia, Hungary, Ukraine, Sweden, Australia, Norway, Denmark, Slovenia and Netherlands.

Both Romania and Russia failed to qualify for the next round. The first semi-final took place on May 8.

The Grand Finale of Eurovision Song Contest 2018 will take place on May 12.
