EU closer to Moldova through European City day set up in Capital center
European City has been organized in the center of the Capital. For two days, at the initiative of the EU Delegation to Moldova, visitors will learn more about the culture and cuisine of European countries in tents installed by embassies in the Central Park. The start of the entertainment was given by the EU Ambassador to Moldova, Peter Michalko.
Peter Michalko said that Europe Day is not just a celebration, but a common commitment of the EU to help our country develop further.
"We have one major objective to contribute to improving the lives of citizens in the Republic of Moldova. We are convinced that this is the way citizens of the Republic of Moldova want to go," said Peter Michalko, EU ambassador to Moldova.
Parliament Speaker Andrian Candu thanked the European partners for joining the Republic of Moldova.
"It is not easy, but every day one step, the Republic of Moldova is closer to these rules and these values of the European Union. I would like to thank, first of all, and to give appreciations to the Member States of the Union European Parliament for its confidence and the support it gives to the Republic of Moldova ", said Andrian Candu, the Speaker of Parliament.
The European town hosts a Film and Culture Festival, where the audience will watch films made in EU countries, classical jazz and jazz performances, supported by the National Philharmonic and bands from the country and abroad.
